CHICAGO — After two years of quarterly scrutiny, the master forecasting spreadsheet at Brennan Logistics came clean Monday, confessing in a company-wide email that several of its most-cited figures 'arrived from a tab that no longer exists.'

C14 is a guess. C14 has always been a guess.

'Everyone kept saying 'the model shows' and 'per the spreadsheet,'' the document wrote. 'No one has clicked into C14 since the person who made me left. C14 is a guess. C14 has always been a guess.'

Leadership praised the spreadsheet's courage, then re-attached it to the board deck unchanged.
